  • Delinte is a part of Sentury Tire and was established in 2009. The tire manufacturer produces tires for passenger cars, CUVs, SUVs, Jeeps, pickups, and sports cars, and its range of tires cater to the off-road, highway, and race track needs.

The Delinte Desert Storm D8 Plus is an all-season, high-performance tire suitable for use on performance sedans, sports cars, CUVs, and SUVs, and is engineered to offer reliable year-round performance and value-for-money driving experience with high fuel efficiency, longevity, and enhanced driving comforts.

If you’re considering buying this tire, we have done a comprehensive analysis in this Delinte Desert Storm D8 Plus review to help you make a well-informed purchase. So, let’s start with knowing the features and benefits of this tire, followed by pros and cons, vehicle compatibility, and our verdict in the end.

    Features and Benefits

All-season tires are engineered to serve year-round in dry, wet, and light wintry conditions, and likewise is the case with the Desert Storm D8 Plus. But, what makes it even more valuable is its ability to offer high-performance drives. Delinte has offered this tire with many impressive features, and some of the worth-mentioning features are:

    • Solid year-round performance – The Desert Storm D8 Plus is built using an all-season silica-rich rubber compound that ensures optimum year-round performance in dry, wet, and light wintry conditions. The tread compound maintains flexibility for better road contact in light wintry conditions, whereas the 3D angled grooves and dual circumferential grooves reduce the risk of hydroplaning by evacuating water and slush from the footprint and ensuring increased wet traction.
    • Better handling, stability, and cornering – The tire’s tread design is engineered to offer enhanced controllability. The center tread rib and high-stiffness bead filler take the responsibility to offer better handling, stability, and cornering. Additionally, the wider profile with a good number of biting edges along with the flexible rubber compound keep the tread gripped with the surface for enhanced driving confidence at high speeds.
    • Enhanced braking performance – All thanks to the 3D groove tread pattern and silica-rich compound, the Desert Storm D8 Plus improves the braking ability and shortens the stopping distance.
    • Increased deformation resistance – As this tire is made for performance-oriented as well as year-round driving, the manufacturer has made great efforts to resist the chances of deformations. The solid construction, optimized tread design, and robust shape-holding abilities of the tire don’t let the tire deform during high-speed performance by equally distributing the driving pressures across the tread.
    • Improved fuel efficiency – The tire utilizes silica in its overall structure, which reduces its weight and limits energy consumption. The rolling resistance is further lessened with this lightweight yet durable structure, which leads to seamless tire rolling and reduced fuel consumption.

The Desert Storm D8 Plus is available in 20- and 22-inch rim sizes and its available sizes are:

    Pros and Cons

As now you know about the key features of the Desert Storm D8 Plus, let’s now take a look at its positives and negatives.

    PROS:

    • Impressive handling, stability, and cornering performance
    • Contributes to improved fuel efficiency
    • Solid construction restricts deformations
    • Better braking performance than its rivals
    • Solid traction performance on dry and wet surfaces
    • More quieter than its competition
    • Has longer tread life than some of its peers

    CONS:

    • Not covered by any limited manufacturer tread life warranty
    • The tire is available in very few sizes
    • The tire should not be used in moderate to severe winter weather conditions and only offers average performance in light winter weather.
    • Slightly more expensive than other budget-friendly tires in the segment

SimpleTire’s view on Delinte Desert Storm D8 Plus tires

If you’re looking for a performance-worthy tire with year-round capability in the budget tire segment, then the Desert Storm D8 Plus could be a suitable choice for your vehicle. But, you need to check the compatibility first, as this tire is available in very limited sizes. The pricing of the tire is very subjective. A single tire starts at the price of at least $126.96, which is slightly more expensive than competing budget-friendly tires like the Crosswind All Season UHP, offered at the starting price of $73.96 per unit, and the Milestar MS932 Sport, offered at the starting price of $68.99.

The tire is great in terms of handling, stability, and cornering performance, and has an average SimpleScore of 8.6 out of 10. Likewise, the traction performance of the tire is also admirable and the tire has an average SimpleScore of 8.1, which is better than many of its competing tires, however, the snow performance of the tire isn’t very impressive and needs improvements.

The Desert Storm D8 is optimized for increased fuel efficiency and the construction of the tire is durable enough to avoid deformations and offer a longer tread life. This tire scores 7.8 out of 10 in longevity, which means it offers extended service life in practical conditions, subject to proper tire maintenance, timely rotations, and generous driving habits. It also has a better braking performance than its rivals and is optimized to keep the tread noise levels in control. One thing the buyers might not like is that it isn’t offered with any limited manufacturer tread life warranty.

The Delinte Desert Storm D8 Plus has its competition with the following tires:

These are on a 2001 Silverado 1500 SWB and handle great. I don't take it out in rain and definitely not in snow so I can't answer to those handling ratings. Good tire for sure!
