Continental have been producing comfortable and innovative all-terrain, UHP tires, and mud-terrain tires that deliver quality and performance.
The ProContact TX is yet another accomplished premium all-season tire from Continental that’s to be used on passenger cars and crossovers who want stability on the road with great comfort. Continental also provided the tire with a 65,000 mile limited manufacturer tread life warranty, a 60 Day Trial, and 3 Year Roadside Assistance which is among the best in the category.
The ProContact TX comes loaded with run-flat Technology that, in case of a puncture, prevents the sidewall from being crushed between the rim and the road, and the tire from slipping off the rim, which makes a spare tire obsolete. Additionally, ContiSilent technology reduces interior noise on all road surfaces.
But is this Continental tire the right tire for you? Let’s take a look at this Continental ProContact TX review.
Features and Benefits
All-season tires perform exceptionally well in areas that receive moderate temperatures year-round. Fortunately, the Continental ProContact TX performs well in dry, wet, and light winter weather conditions while maintaining a firm grip on the road. Additionally, all-season tires typically offer better-rolling resistance for enhanced fuel economy.
Let’s take a look at the Continental ProContact TX tire review to help understand all its features and benefits at a glance:
- Run Flat Technology: Available on select sizes, this technology keeps the tires compatible with all standard rims because of self-supporting reinforced sidewall.
- Optimal traction: Continental ProContact TX tire has a multidirectional tread design with stable tread blocks that helps in improving the cornering grip.
- Reduced Noise: Continental employed its ContiSilent technology in the ProContact TX, which incorporates an underlay beneath the tread that isolates the tread from the casing. This helps minimize vibrations, delivering a comfortable and noise-free ride.
The wheel size ranges from 15-inch to 20-inch, which makes it an ideal choice for a wide range of vehicles on roads today, including compact cars, mid-size sedans, performance sedans, coupes, minivans, and crossovers. Additionally, the 65000 limited manufacturer tread life warranty ensures that drivers will get plenty of miles out of their purchase.
Pros and Cons
Before deciding to buy Continental ProContact TX tires or not, let’s first drill down a few factors that can help you decide whether or not the tire is right for you.
- Great cornering and braking grip on dry and wet roads
- Best suitable tire match for dry, wet, and even snow areas
- Extremely responsive for an all-season passenger tire
- Excellent handling and grip in the rain
- Short stopping distances
- Long tread life and a very good 65,000 mile limited manufacturer tread life warranty
While Continental makes a good claim about ProContact TX’s performance, some shortcomings may divide opinions.
- The ride is firmer than its closest premium competitors
- Tread noise is a slight issue on rough pavement
- Not ideal for use on icy surfaces
- Only available for passenger vehicles
SimpleTire’s view on Continental ProContact TX tires
Continental covers a large portion of the vehicle tire market with this tire that’s available for passenger cars and crossovers. The ProContact TX is an all-season touring tire that is ideal for dry, wet, and light snow conditions. Additionally, the tire features Run Flat Technology (on select sizes) and ContiSilent technology which provides fuel savings, shorter stopping distances on wet roads, reduced tread noise, and extended tread life. Fantastic tires. I haven't driven in the snow yet but every thing else is great. Fast shipping and great prices.
Just installed this tires on my 2017 nissan maxima. Horrible road noise when driving 65mph and up. Handling is normal but for 200 dollar tire price range , road noise is just unacceptable.
This was a very simple process and worked very smoothly both in ordering and installation. Zero issues, I'd use it again.
This is our 4th maybe 5th set of tires with different vehicle. I drive mostly highway and mountain roads talking about the famous "Dragon Tail" road up in the Smokie Mountains where I live. Last tires were 54k on it we didn't have to replace them but winter was upon us. The other ones still riding on them 48k on them. I believe reasonable price and good quality. Will buy these tires again...
