You’d expect any Finnish-based tire manufacturer to have some experience in developing tires to get through the demands of Scandinavian winters, and you’d be correct. You should consider the Nokian Nordman 9 SUV – Nokian is a Finnish company (and the same parent company that makes Nokia phones) and they know all about harsh winter conditions and winter tire engineering. The Nordman 9 SUV is designed to get you through the roughest conditions that winter weather can throw your way, with a tread compound that’s custom-designed to stay flexible and deliver the grip you need in sub-freezing conditions. The surface of the Nordman 9 SUV’s winter tread features a network of deep grooves and strategically placed sipes that boost your tire’s surface area and biting edges to dig in and chew their way through snow and slush. The Nordman 9 SUV is pre-drilled so that a tire tech can easily install studs that would be strategically placed to give you the traction you need to safely get across hockey-rink-slick with confidence.
