Evidently the tires you get on a new car can have the same name and look the same as ones you buy from a tire dealer but have a lower tread wear life. So when you see a review saying how awful they are on a new car that's because vehicle manufacturers buy tires that give great mileage feel smooth but have less tread wear life. Add to that a new car settles in all its new parts and you should have tires rotated every 5000 miles. Check and see the indicator for tread life is it around 640 or is it lower on a new car.
