  • Pirelli Scorpion All Season Plus 3

If you’re driving a late model pickup or SUV, you’re probably going to want an all-season tire that can easily handle a truck’s load capacity but can also deliver ride quality, handling, year-round traction, low noise, and great handling like the best touring tires for passenger cars. At SimpleTire, we’ve been fans of Pirelli products for a long time – there’s a good reason why they’re featured as OEM tires for so many upscale cars, trucks, SUVs and crossovers.

The Pirelli Scorpion All Season Plus 3 checks many of the desired boxes mentioned above. With a revised tread pattern, advanced rubber formulation, and a bunch of other features that we’ll get into in a moment, the Scorpion All Season Plus 3 is a standout when it comes to light truck tires.

But is this the right tire for you and your ride? Found out in this Pirelli Scorpion All Season Plus 3 review.

SimpleTire’s view on Pirelli Scorpion All Season Plus 3 tires

Pirelli Scorpion All Season Plus 3

Pirelli consistently offers excellent value and performance for a variety of vehicles and with a variety of designs available for different drivers’ specs and preferences, and the Scorpion All Season Plus 3 is no exception. Previous iterations of the Scorpion series have all been great tires as well, and Pirelli just put a little more development into those already -proven designs for the All Season Plus 3.

The result is a tire that does a great job for a variety of trucks, SUVs, and crossovers, with handling and overall performance that rivals the best all-season and touring tires, except with the load capacity and durability you need for a light truck tire. There’s no way to go wrong with the Pirelli Scorpion All Season Plus 3.

Vehicles the Pirelli Scorpion All Season Plus 3 is a good replacement for

CUVs, SUVs, and light trucks are very common on the road today, and the Scorpion All Season Plus 3 is meant for use on them. If you drive a Chevrolet Equinox, Hyundai Tucson, Toyota RAV4, Honda Pilot, Nissan Rogue, Ford Explorer, Mazda CX-5, or Kia Sportage, then this tire needs to be on your radar.

The whole experience from ordering to getting my tires installed was extremely satisfying. No issues whatsoever. I will be using simple tires again

The performance aspect of the tire on wet and dry roads is solid; however, the ride quality and construction of the tire is very poor - especially the sidewall. Fuel consumption has also decreased from my OEM set. I replaced the OEMs with this last year based on the reviews. I expected a slight drop in fuel consumption, but what I did not expect is the issue with the sidewall shifting that causes vibration at highway speeds. I purchased and installed them at the dealership. Mild vibration started at around 8,000 miles on the tires at about 65 to 68 mph. I returned the vehicle to the same dealership for service when the vibration became stronger and at a greater range of speed over the course of about two weeks. They first checked for signs of damage or abuse. After finding none (the Florida roads I travel are smooth and I drive at reasonable speeds), they decided the issue required deeper examination. It took a few days of testing and diagnostics for them to find the belts in all four tires were out of position from factory-standard, creating a resonance throughout the body of the SUV. They were able to implement a partial fix by rebalancing the tires to compensate for the vibration because PIRELLI REFUSED TO REPLACE THE TIRES even though it was apparent it was a manufacturing issue with this batch of tires. This was my first time with Pirelli (I usually ride on Michelins and Bridgestones), and it was not a good one. I might be among the minority, but I do NOT recommend these tires. Furthermore, a potential buyer should question purchasing Pirelli if they do not stand by their product.

Ride comfort and handling are much better than with the OEM tires and will definitely look to keep Pirelli's when they need to be changed again.

Great tread and good low road noise. These are great for my GMC and had all 4 within 5 days of placing the order. Handling and breaking grip is what you would expect from a higher priced tire.

I put these on our 23 3.0 duramax Tahoe. So far these tires have seen all types of weather. Heavy rains not a problem, dry roads they are super quite and comfortable. Snow they have seen 8 inches of snow and kept moving. Slushy roads did great. Icy roads they did good, now these aren't specific winter tires but I have zero complaints with these tires. Will be buying again when they wear out in a long long long.
