Since I have only 150 miles one these tires I cannot comment on wet conditions as I have not driven them in the wet. Winter is not yet here so I cannot comment on that.i I will say tha tires have impressed me on dry condition performance. I generally buy Toyo tires, I have for years. These Nexen tires have so far impressed me with the handling and traction on the dry conditions that i have used them on. I will likely be buying more of them I wish they made a studded winter tire! These tires have been on my Lexus for the last SEVEN YEARS, they still had plenty of tread left when I swapped them out. This is where you want to keep reading... I just got new tires because I needed to replace these. Not because they had no tread left, but because they had dry-rotted so much that one actually just gave up and deflated on my way to the grocery store last week. I knew I was going to have to replace them soon, but not this soon. I understand this seems negative, but to me-these tires lasting this long and still having plenty of tread left is remarkable to me. Dry-rot is just a product of the product. In my opinion these tires outlived themselves! What did I swap them out with? Toyo Open Country AT III. First impressions is they make my truck look amazing! How do the Toyo's compare to these Nexen's? The handling is immediately noticeable (this doesn't count because my Nexens were very worn 10K miles left at least) just notating this because it's hard to gauge this comparison since we're basing it off of years of the first feeling on these Nexen's. wet/dry traction is TBD, I have barely put 3 miles on these Toyo's. I came straight here to make a review on these Nexen's, so that should tell you how I feel about the Toyo's. Am I seriously considering returning the Toyo's for a set of these? YES! VERY SERIOUSLY! Why are you considering swapping them so soon? First impressions were, I absolutely LOVED them! I LOVE the way my truck looks with them! Plus I got a taller sidewall so it looks even cooler! The aggressive tread looks awesome, and they don't take away from the luxury of the truck either. Still looks like a buff gentleman in a business suit, but now it looks even more buff! When I started driving, I was so happy. Smile from ear to ear, and loved the way they rode! Then, I started hearing them. As I started going faster, I could hear them even more. I get it! I got aggressive All-Terrain tires, what was I expecting? Well, I was expecting similar to these Nexens and yes, based on everyone else's review's on the Toyo's saying they were quiet, I thought they'd be as quiet if-not quieter! I don't know what new technology tire manufacturers have now! I mean, if they can make an EV tire quiet with all that weight, they have to have some good tech in tires, right? Are they quieter, or louder than these Nexen's? Louder than these Nexen Roadian AT Pro RA8's for sure. I haven't even taken the vehicle past 45MPH yet and they're already louder than these Nexen's. Which is the better deal? Nexen's hands down if you don't need more than an average AT tire that can handle basic light work off road as well as be very safe on-road as well. Toyo's for if you're planning on doing more than casual or regular off-roading, overlanding, or the like-then you will want these. If you're just mainly on-road and if you go off-road it isn't intentional, the Nexen's will be everything and more! This isn't to say the Nexen's are not capable, the Toyo's are just more aggressively designed for more medium to heavy off-roading/overlanding work. In conclusion: When compared to the Top brand, and top model tire, this stands out as a top contender for those who want a very capable on-road tire that is also just as capable off-road, with some additional perks as well-this tire will definitely steal sales from the Toyo's 100%! If I had known how loud the Toyo's were before, this would have been a different review. Buy the Nexen's, besides, they're cheaper!
I've only put about 500 miles on these tires so far, Handling is great and wet traction is great as well. previous tires were Falken wildpeak A/T and were a little noisy compared to these. These also ride smoother. balanced these with a road force capable balancer and minimal road force or weights were needed. Stock 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Great tire so far for our Michigan winters. Handled snow great, good wet traction very quiet overall on the highway.
Replaced some worn out Falken Wildpeak at3 I'm estimating had close to 50k miles. These Nexens are super quiet, ride really smooth and seem to be doing well. Grip pretty good in wet conditions, snow they do well in and haven't had the opportunity to try mud. Overall not a terrible tire for the price
You cannot beat the price on these tires. I have to say for as big as these tires are they are very quiet and they ride very smooth. I'm not sure about the treadwear I'll let you know in 20,000 miles.
Drove only 2k miles, but tires have seen dry, wet, and snow conditions. Traction has been very good. No decrease in braking from previous tires (Falken & Goodyear). So far - so good. Also, these are OEM optional tire for Ram 1500.
Replaced my plow truck worn out Falken Wildpeaks that had close to 50k miles on them. These are much quieter and the ride increased with these. Grip well on wet and snow covered roads not as good as the Falkens. Satisfied with the Nexen's and may possibly buy another set for my daily driver F150. This is the 3rd set of tires I have purchased from simpletire and recommend them.
