  • Maxxis RAZR AT

Launched in 1967, Maxxis Tires is a reputed Taiwanese tire manufacturer known for its high-quality and durable products. Although the brand started its journey as a bike tire manufacturer, it diversified its product lineup over time. Among the top 10 largest tire brands in the world today, it produces high-quality tires for trailers, ATVs, trailers, trucks, and automobiles, supplying its products in more than 180 countries worldwide. The extensive product lineup of this brand includes different types of tires, including all-season, ultra-high-performance, mud-terrain, all-terrain, and highway.

Designed to be used on jeeps, light trucks, and SUVs, the Maxxis RAZR AT is a good all-terrain tire that offers a new off-road rubber compound to enhance resistance to chip and tear, promoting a longer tread life. Its Three Peak Mountain Snowflake certificate makes it suitable for use in moderate to severe snow conditions. Thanks to its 3D tread blocks and reinforced bridges, the tire reduces road noises and vibrations, thereby enhancing ride comfort. The sidewall armor present in this all-terrain tire boosts off-road traction and resists punctures.

So, is it worth going for? Let's try to answer in this Maxxis RAZR AT review.

    Features and Benefits

All-terrain tires feature large and aggressive tread blocks to combat the challenging trails and maximize traction. Ideally used on off-roads, these tires ensure confident rides on mud, rocks, gravel, sand, and snow. All-terrain tires feature tough sidewalls to prevent punctures and offer greater resistance to cuts, chips, and abrasions. Let’s understand its features and benefits:

    • Increased traction: The Maxxis RAZR AT delivers exceptional all-terrain traction, thanks to its innovative tread design. Its off-roading rubber compound and Three Peak Mountain Snowflake certification deliver superior grip in snowy and icy conditions.
    • Great handling: The RAZR AT is equipped with a dual-cord casing design that enhances stability and reduces off-road vibration to make your driving experience comfortable and smoother. With reinforced tread block bridges, the tire not only minimizes noise and vibrations on highways but also offers great performance in off-road conditions. The balanced tread design enhances handling and cornering under heavy loads.
    • Solid durability: The robust construction and durable sidewalls of the RAZR AT resist tears, chips, and irregular wear. With the dual-cord casing technology, the all-terrain tire gets another layer of protection as it resists puncture and prolongs its tread life. The tire delivers a lasting performance and peace of mind, whether you explore off-roads or city streets.
    • Lasts long: The 3D tread blocks and bridge reinforcements, together with the new off-road rubber compound and high tread depth, ensure consistent wear on loose, muddy, or rocky surfaces for long tire life.

SimpleTire’s view on Maxxis RAZR AT tires

In summary, the Maxxis RAZR AT (starting at around $143) is a good all-terrain tire designed for SUVs, Jeeps, and light trucks. It delivers a dependable performance in both on and off-road conditions. Featuring strong sidewalls and durable treads, it offers a great balance of comfort, strength, and performance throughout the year. Only put 3k miles on them, but no complaints so far. Haven't had them in snow yet so not sure about winter performance. Definitely louder than my old highway tires, but it's not too bad and I've gotten used to it. These things are lightweight for what they are, and look super aggressive. Great overall

Put these on in November. Best all Terrain I've ever had in the snow even better than the Falken wild peek that I had previously. They are staying balanced and seem to wearing well though I have just done the first rotation. The only thing I would say negative is they are a little bit louder that most AT tires but they are also more aggressive than most AT's. For the price. I would definitely recommend them. I will buy them again when these are worn out.
