  • Kenda Klever R/T KR601

Since 1962, Taiwan-based Kenda Rubber Industrial Company has produced pneumatic tires at different facilities worldwide. They prioritize performance and value when producing tires for industrial machinery, trailers, cars, motorcycles, ATVs, golf cars, light trucks, and bicycles. In 2010, Kenda Tires ranked as the 27th-largest tire manufacturer in the world. For more than 60 years, they have been producing top-notch rubbering rings for a variety of vehicles for customers in North America, Europe, and Asia.

The Kenda Klever R/T KR601 is a rugged, all-terrain tire that can handle challenging terrain without compromising the ride quality and comfort.

But is it the best tire for your car and your budget? Let's take a look at a review of Kenda Klever R/T KR601 to see if it's the right tire for you.

    Features and Benefits

All-terrain tires work well on jeeps, SUVs, and light trucks and are made to perform on any terrain. However, an all-terrain tire might let us down by not offering a smooth ride. If you want a tire that performs better on all types of terrain while also providing a comfortable ride, knowing the features and benefits of the Kenda Klever R/T KR601 will be beneficial to you.

    • Improved traction: An aggressive tread pattern improves the ability to grip soft, loose, and uneven terrain. In addition to helping with difficult mud, sand, and gravel conditions, the tire features strong upper sidewall tread blocks with an aggressive design that also provide long-lasting wear and protection against impact damage.
    • Enhanced durability: The Klever R/T KR601 has a 3-ply sidewall for increased durability, as well as an optimized design and all-season rubber compound for improved traction and performance on- and off-road. Moreover, the stronger polyester casing and aggressive sidewall pattern protect the tire from damage and punctures.
    • Better handling: Because the tread maintains constant road contact, the Klever R/T KR601 is simple to maneuver. With better road contact, the ideal tread design enhances steering response and driving stability.
    • Extensive self-cleaning: An extensive groove pattern improves hydroplaning resistance while maintaining a tidy footprint. Additionally, a large groove pattern boosts the ability to eject mud, snow, and rock.
    • Great grip: With its high sipe density and aggressive tread design, the Klever R/T KR601 boosts wet traction. Able to be pinned with studs, where permitted, for better traction in severe ice and snow, the tire also utilizes a strategic upper sidewall that allows for great grip by creating additional biting edges.

    Pros and Cons

Is it the right tire for your Jeeps, light trucks, or SUVs? Let’s take a look at its pros and cons before expressing our final opinion:

    • Triple Threat Sidewall (3 full carcass plies, aggressive sidewall tread, robust bead protector) to prevent damage
    • Blocks in the center of the tread interlock for aggressive off-road and snow performance.
    • Large groove pattern to reduce the risk of hydroplaning
    • High sipe density for superior traction on snow, ice, and wet surfaces
    • Can be pinned with TSMI #15 studs, where permitted, to improve traction in harsh winter weather
    • High sipe density to offer quiet and comfortable ride

Regardless of its features and benefits, these tires may lack in the following areas:

    • No mileage warranty
    • Ride quality could be improved

SimpleTire’s view on Kenda Klever R/T KR601 tires

If you're looking for an all-terrain tire, the Kenda Klever R/T KR601 is a great option. In comparison to all-terrain tires like the Radar Renegade A/T Pro and Atturo Trail Blade A/T, the Kenda Klever R/T KR601 provides superior traction, handling, and performance all year long. The Atturo Trail Blade A/T and Radar Renegade A/T Pro are outperformed by the Kenda Klever R/TKR601 in terms of traction and handling, despite the latter's slightly higher price. These tires are still new, about 1000 miles, but so far they have been great. Perform great in dry and wet, and I imagine they will do great in the snow as well. The ride is very comfortable and the tires are quiet even at 70mph. My order arrived promptly, setting up installation was very simple, and the tires balanced out with no issues - no shakes or wobbles at higher speeds. I took a chance on these compred to the usually BFG or Toyo I have purchased in the past, and I could not be happier I did. Thanks Simple Tire for a killer price and Kenda for making a great tire that competes with the higher end brands at a more affordable cost.

I can't really assign a bunch of numbers to categories for these tires yet as I haven't had them very long, so that is why I put a bunch of N/As. But here is my specific story and maybe it will help you. I bought these tires because they are the only ones available in 33x9.5R15. That's really a shame. If you have an iconic classic 4x4 like a 1978 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 you need a tall, skinny A/T or M/T. Or even if you wanted OE tires on an old CJ, Scout, Blazer, or Bronco. This one is an R/T, Rough Terrain, supposedly in the middle of the 2, sweet!. Anyway, they are good tires so far, much smoother riding than the Load range E tires I took off. Also very easy to steer with manual steering in this size. It's funny I have ridden Kenda tires on my mountain bike for years and now I have a set on my 40. Overall, I wish tire manufacturers would keep the vintage 4x4 market in mind and stock this size, but at least Kenda is doing it, and so far doing it well.

I purchased a set of these a few months ago for my 2019 Silverado 1500 LD and love the look on my truck. I also am very impressed with the noise and comfort on the pavement and was excited driving home the first time. I have to say though, the amount of tire slip and spin I get with these is way worse than I had with the factory tires that were on the truck. It doesn't seem to matter if it's dry, wet, or snowy, they spin very easy unless I ease into the gas, and it doesn't matter if it's a turn or straight. I m not sure that I would purches these again the way they are. Great price and comfort, not happy with the performance.

I have e loads with almost 50k miles on them. Still have plenty of tread on them. They've been great. They're a bit on the stiff side but they're also more geared toward off roading than say at3ws. They're a heavy tire. But they're crazy durable. They do get a little bit louder but nothing that bad. Handled rocks, sand, snow and wet conditions amazingly. I don't have clay where I am but they handled mud pretty well. Overall I've been happy and will be buying another pair
