The General Grabber UHP offers high traction and great handling on dry and wet roads. A UHP all-season tire, the tire that can be used on CUVs, light trucks, and SUVs and is suitable enough for an average SimpleScore of 8.2. A speed rating of W means it is capable of being driven at high speed, and the directional tread helps maximize grip for dry, wet, and light winter weather conditions. It is available with a decent tread depth of 10/32 inches, which is largely standard for light truck tires.
But is this the right tire for your ride? Let’s take a look in this General Grabber UHP review.
Features and Benefits
Wouldn’t you love it if you could accelerate hard, brake hard, and drive aggressively for several months a year? Well, that’s exactly what the General Grabber UHP is built for, providing features to prevent hydroplaning and enable driver confidence on paved roads. The shoulder blocks on this tire receive additional sipes and multiple edges for boosting braking and handling performance. We found the following features and benefits after our elaborate General Grabber UHP tire review process:
- Year-round performance: An all-season rubber compound and directional tread pattern work together to provide consistent year-round performance.
- Great traction: The enhanced rubber compound here is responsible for high traction in dry and wet conditions, leading to an average traction SimpleScore of 8.5. There are steep, extended V-shaped grooves on this directional tire that increase hydroplaning resistance and provide confidence on wet surfaces.
- Great handling and braking performance: While the rubber compound is helpful in boosting handling and braking performance, an optimized contour with a focus on reinforced construction and flat belts enhances performance at high speeds. As per the above, the General Grabber UHP deserves an average handling SimpleScore of 8.3.
- Long lifespan: Deep tread on the outer part of the tire, along with reinforced construction, helps elongate the tire’s lifespan, leading to an average longevity SimpleScore of 7.8.
- Smooth and quiet: Drivers and passengers will feel minimum impacts from bumps and will be able to enjoy a smooth and quiet ride due to constantly varying groove angles.

SimpleTire’s view on General Grabber UHP tires
Strong braking is a major reason for scoring a high General Grabber UHP rating. The silica compound is the main factor that differentiates one tire from the other, and the compound here offers a great mix of handling, traction, and braking performance. General tires have been around for more than 100 years now, so you can be sure of their high quality. You may see excellent reviews of these tires because of their superb grip in a variety of driving conditions, durability, and versatility. Even at high speeds, drivers may feel confident and at ease knowing that they have superior grip and control in both dry and wet conditions. What’s more, the Grabber UHP is a much cheaper alternative when compared to the Falken Azenis FK510A SUV and the Hankook Ventus S1 evo3 SUV (K127A).
Along with providing a smooth and quiet ride, the tread pattern lessens vibrations throughout the vehicle. Expect it to be suitable for daily use due to its lengthy tread life and ability to withstand minor winter conditions. All things considered, the General Grabber UHP tires are a great buy for anyone searching for a high-performance, dependable tire that can function in all weather conditions.

Great sport tire good handling wet and dry good traction cornering and a smooth quiet ride.
I love Simpletire.com. My tires arrived in one day. After ordering them. I isn't get to try the tires in the snow.
this is my second set. treadwear rating (320) is low but traction under acceleration, braking and turning are top notch so well worth the faster than average wear rate. great under heavy rain and wet roads too. got about 28k mi out the first set and still have another 2 to3 k mi left in them. noise is not bad at all considering size (305/45/22) on a full size truck. they do flat spot when parked overnight but get round again within a few miles, but this is with a heavy full size truck.this may not happen on a lighter vehicle. great tire overall.
Great tire and great value. Tire runs quiet and improved the ride quality of my SUV.
Grabber UHP , look REALLY good on my 1999 Dodge Dakota R/T 5.9. Very SPORTY looking.
excellent tire for handling corners. Great during winter and summer never had any slips during the heavy rainstorms we had this past year. hoping to get a little over 55k from these
