Features and Benefits
Winter tires are tires that are designed to provide drivers with grip on challenging terrains such as ice, snow, slush, etc. These tires are used in areas with temperatures constantly below 45 degrees as their flexible rubber compound allows for a good and consistent traction. I haven't actually installed these on my 2018 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 yet, but will do so before winter. I'm looking forward to running them in some serious snow and ice...if it happens this winter. I will have to update my review once I do. The last winter tires I purchased were Michelin Latitude X-ice for my 2007 Chevy Colorado 4x4, and they were awesome, but quite expensive. So, I'm looking forward to comparing the performance of these more reasonably priced Generals. One thing I can say, is that I purchased the LT version of these tires, and the tread depth is incredible!
I could use a more aggressive tread.
Put on a 2015 f150 to replace the no season wranglers for the winter. It takes a lot more for the traction to break loose in slippery conditions and the stopping improvement is awesome! I've had a lot of comments about how good they look also. I wasn't looking for 10 ply, but I wanted the deeper tread they offer. They were a tight fit for the installer to put on the stock Ford rims, but they haven't leaked in the cold weather.
Only put about 3500 mile on them so far Great winter tire very pleased so far I drive to Northern Michigan every weekend. Had a ton of snow this year. Tires performed as expected
I purchased these for my 2500 HD plow truck, so far they provide great traction on packed snow and ice and, freshly fallen unplowed surfaces alike. I got mine studded as I have several steep driveways. They definitely hook up in situations where other all terrain tires left me spinning, or stuck.
