Get technical:
The Bridgestone Blizzak W965 is a winter tire that's designed for use on commercial light trucks and vans, and offers drivers excellent snow and ice performance, dependable traction in winter conditions, and longer tread life.
Features & Benefits
- Winter tread; should not be used when temperatures are consistently above 45 degrees Fahrenheit
- Black sidewall
- Three Peak Mountain Snowflake certified for use in severe winter weather conditions
- Optimized tread pattern forces water and slush out of the contact patch for increased grip in wintry conditions
- Extra sipes within the tread bite into the road to increase grip
Winter-specific rubber compounds keep their corresponding tires flexible in cold conditions (in temperatures below 45 degrees Fahrenheit). Fortunately, the Bridgestone Blizzak W965 features a patented Multicell rubber compound that, in addition to the above, removes the layer of surface water to enhance traction on ice-covered roads. It also prevents uneven wear, ensuring that the tire lasts longer. The Uni-T technology and special tread blocks of the Blizzak W965 help deliver excellent traction and performance. You can expect tremendous ice traction here, thanks to zigzag sipes and tread blocks. There are extra sipes within the tread for increasing grip, especially in harsh snow. Considering that the W965 is designed for commercial vehicles, a 10-ply rating enables them to withstand heavy load capacities without losing shape or performance. The W965 is suitable for use on vehicles like the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500, Ford F-150, GMC Sierra 1500, and Chevrolet Express 2500.
